ENGLISH PROFICIENCY OF FEN STUDENTS

“The level of English is a very important point for us at KEDGE BS. As we do a lot of group projects and presentations in our classes, the level of English and the capacity to express oneself is very important to us and we were happy to see that all the students that we have received from Facultad de Economía y Negocios have been able to follow and participate in our English-taught courses without any problem. As such it is always a pleasure to welcome students from FEN to our institution!”

“Regarding to the level of English of the students we had received from FEN in the past 2 years, I have to say that they were excellent. From FEN only, we received two students for the short term who had great oral communication skills and it was reflected in their final presentation. One of them decided to come back for the long term program (one semester) and he certainly had succeed with 12 credits in the University of Tsukuba, taking most of his credits in English language and some in Japanese studies. In conclusion, I can affirm that the level of conversational and written English of the students from FEN is excellent.”

“The Darla Moore School of Business has had an extensive collaboration with Universidad de Chile Facultad de Economía y Negocios. There have been exchanges of undergraduate students and graduate students as well one of the graduates of economics who completed his PhD in marketing with us. In every instance, the students from FEN have been very proficient in the English language, which has contributed to a very effective and growing student mobility. We look forward to the continued collaboration and hope for it to grow.”

“Northumbria University has been receiving students from FEN since 2016. We have always had very good quality of students and their English level has been up to standard for us, which includes very rigorous UK immigration regulations. We have always been happy with their English proficiency and look forward to receiving more in the future.”

International Partnerships and Mobility Manager, Northumbria University / Newcastle, United Kingdom

“I am very pleased to tell you that since you started sending undergraduate students to Nova SBE in the 2015/16 Academic Year, we have received five students from FEN.
Those five students enrolled in a total of 22 courses here, and the average grade earned is 13.1 (out of 20, with 10 as the minimum pass).  Of the 22 courses attempted, only 3 were failed, and the average of the grades of the 19 courses passed is 15.2.  They have done very well.
The three failing grades are concentrated in two courses (Global Economics I and Financial Accounting).  Both of these are quantitative-intensive disciplines, and not heavily dependent on English-language skills.  The 19 courses of success are in the Management area and thus greatly dependent on language nuance and elevated language skills in general.  As these are the courses in which success prevails, I take this as a strong indication that FEN students were able to cope with the language demands and even excel in that regard.
The program managers also say that they have no complaints from either FEN students or the Nova professors about any aspect of their studies here.
All in all, it is clear that the students Nova has received from FEN have had no difficulty dealing with the language of instruction (English) here.”
